Reliability Patterns for Enterprise Integrations: Building Observable, Governed, and Resilient Platforms
Abstract :
Modern enterprise platforms depend on integrations across CRM, ERP, procurement, identity, storage, workflow automation, and partner systems. These integrations are often treated as connectors, but in practice they become part of the reliability boundary of the platform. When an integration fails, customers may experience delayed workflows, inconsistent data, duplicate actions, missed approvals, or broken downstream automation.
This talk presents practical reliability patterns for enterprise integrations. It discusses how teams can design integration platforms with clear contracts, idempotent processing, retry and recovery strategies, dependency-aware monitoring, governance controls, and traceable execution. The session also highlights why observability should not stop at service uptime, but should include integration health, queue behavior, external dependency failures, SLA risk, and workflow completion.
The goal is to give attendees a practical view of how enterprise integrations can be built as resilient platform capabilities rather than one-off connectors. The talk connects distributed systems engineering, service health, and platform governance to show how reliable integrations improve customer trust and operational readiness..

Siva Bayyavarapu is a Distinguished Fellow at SCRS, a Fellow of IETE, and a Lead Software Engineer at DocuSign with over 15 years of experience in enterprise cloud systems, distributed architectures, and large-scale SaaS platforms. He previously worked at Salesforce, where he contributed to building Salesforce Marketing Cloud capabilities.
He has led the design and implementation of high-performance integration frameworks across the Salesforce, SAP Ariba, Microsoft, and DocuSign ecosystems, supporting mission-critical automation for global enterprises at scale.
His work focuses on enterprise integrations, cloud orchestration, event-driven architectures, and AI-driven automation for enterprise platforms. He is also a published author in IEEE and international conference proceedings and serves as a peer reviewer for multiple scholarly venues, contributing to both industry
